Shaping of rings and round parts
The efficient machining of round parts depends heavily on the central clamping of the workpieces. If the concentricity and part clamping are correct, the installed machine performance can be called up in order to achieve short machining times and to grind the surfaces without errors. To meet this challenge, Reichmann developed a universal chuck with a working range from 500 to 1600 mm.

The solution
To meet this challenge, Reichmann developed a universal chuck with a working range from 500 to 1600 mm. The entire clamping range can be used without retrofitting work, only the contact zones to the workpiece are covered by adapted clamping jaws. The heart of the solution is the central drive of the clamping arms, which is carried out via a servo-electric drive.
The control of the drive torque, which is common in servo drives, enables sensitive orientation to the parts situation in order to ensure concentricity even with deformable parts.
Fast Facts:
- Large clamping range without retrofitting
- Self centering
- Variable tension
- Integrated rotary drive
- Suitable for alternate loading
- Machining on the inner and outer diameter or on the head surface
- Wear and maintenance free construction
The universal chuck can be integrated into the extensive Reichmann machine portfolio. The areas of application range from rings to pipes and drums to lids.
